About 80 stakeholders gathered in Can Tho City to explore how digital agriculture and precision nutrient management can help farmers reduce costs, improve productivity, and lower greenhouse gas emissions. Supported by the CABIN Project, the field day and technology demonstration brought together representatives from government agencies, universities, research institutes, private companies, international organizations, cooperatives, and farming communities.

Organized by IRRI in collaboration with the Can Tho Department of Agriculture and Environment and MTK Fertilizer Joint Stock Company, the event featured live field demonstrations of the Rice Crop Manager (RCM) application and other precision nutrient management technologies. Participants were able to compare conventional fertilizer practices with data-driven approaches designed to optimize nutrient use according to crop needs and field conditions.

The event highlighted the growing partnership between IRRI and MTK Company to accelerate the scaling of low-emission rice production technologies. By combining scientific research, digital tools, mechanization, and private-sector outreach networks, the collaboration helps farmers move from experience-based fertilizer application to precision nutrient management

As Vietnam advances its One Million Hectares High-Quality, Low-Emission Rice Program, initiatives such as this demonstrate the potential of digital innovation and public-private collaboration to support sustainable agricultural transformation across the Mekong Delta.
