CABIN Project Supports Launch of High-Quality, Low-Emission Rice Value Chain Linkage Model in Dong Thap

The CABIN Project supported the launch of a new High-Quality, Low-Emission Rice Value Chain Linkage Model at Toan Thinh Cooperative in Dong Thap Province, marking an important milestone in Vietnam’s One Million Hectares High-Quality, Low-Emission Rice Program. The event brought together 28 representatives from government agencies, cooperatives, private-sector companies, and research organizations.
The model aims to strengthen collaboration among farmers, cooperatives, input suppliers, service providers, and rice buyers within an integrated production and marketing system. By linking stakeholders across the value chain, the initiative seeks to improve efficiency, transparency, and sustainability while creating greater economic opportunities for rice farmers.
A highlight of the event was the demonstration of mechanized row seeding combined with fertilizer deep placement, a technology that improves nutrient-use efficiency, reduces fertilizer losses, lowers production costs, and contributes to greenhouse gas mitigation.
The launch reflects growing momentum toward coordinated low-emission rice production models that combine technical innovation, market linkages, and stakeholder partnerships to support Vietnam’s green growth objectives.
